Evan Lemoine

Happy New Year!   As we embark on this new calendar year, I am excited to announce that we are now the Electronic Unit of the National Association of Parliamentarians.  This is no small accomplishment, and I would especially like to thank Paul McClintock for his hard work in preparing us for this transition.  Of course our continued success would not be possible without members like you who understand the importance of electronic meetings in today’s world.

On our application for charter we included all 42 members of our unit as having an affiliation with eNAP.  As a member-at-large in an unchartered state, I am proud to claim myself as eNAP’s first primary member and encourage those members-at-large to notify NAP headquarters to designate eNAP as your primary unit.  Please note that if you’re a member of other units, including your name with our application did not have an effect on your primary membership.

As we continue with our transition, you will begin to notice additional changes with eNAP.  First, our website will be updated to reflect the changes to becoming a unit.  Secondly, we’re still exploring options for revising eNAP’s logo.

Our next meeting is scheduled for Monday, February 13, 2012 at 6PM Pacific Time / 9PM Eastern Time, though a formal call to meeting will be released at a later date.  In accordance with our bylaws, this is the annual meeting for which we will conduct the election of officers, receive reports of committees on its activities, and conduct any other business which may arise.  Additionally, the president will appoint committees and chairmen with approval of the Executive Board.  If you’re interested in serving on a committee, please e-mail your secretary Josh Martin atjcmartin7872@gmail.com with what committee(s) you’re interested so a list can be gathered of member’s interests.

Serving as president of this unit is truly an honor.  Thank you for your valuable contributions, and I hope you will sincerely consider becoming involved this year in one of our committees.

Until next time – please stay warm!
